Worked input and result
Example: Surface area = 27 m²; Allowance = 10 %; Coverage per pack = 2 m². Result: Material area required = 29.7 m² (Whole packs: 15; Purchased pack coverage: 30 m²).
Understanding the result
Adds an allowance to floor area, then divides by coverage per pack and rounds up. Material is measured in m². Account for complex layouts and cutting through the allowance.
The estimate includes a waste allowance and rounds packages up to whole packs. The cutting pattern, room shape and supplier’s packing size can change actual consumption.
