Enter: Surface area · Tile length · Tile width · Allowance · Tiles per pack. Calculation: Tiles = ceil(area × (1 + reserve/100) / tile area).
Worked input and result
Example: Surface area = 12 m²; Tile length = 20 cm; Tile width = 20 cm; Allowance = 10 %; Tiles per pack = 12. Result: Tiles required = 330 (Whole packs: 28; Tiles in purchased packs: 336).
Understanding the result
Area including allowance is divided by tile area. Tile and pack counts round up. Grout joints, patterns and layout are not modeled individually; choose an allowance suitable for your project.
The tile count includes a cutting allowance and is rounded up to whole tiles; packs are rounded up again. Grout width and tile layout may change the material needed.
