Enter «Add tax»: Amount excluding tax · Tax rate. Calculation: Gross = Net × (1 + r/100).
Enter «Remove included tax»: Amount including tax · Tax rate. Calculation: Net = Gross / (1 + r/100).
Worked input and result
Example (Add tax): Amount excluding tax = 250; Tax rate = 10 %. Result: Amount including tax = 275 (Tax amount: 25).
Example (Remove included tax): Amount including tax = 250; Tax rate = 10 %. Result: Amount excluding tax = 227.27 (Tax amount: 22.73).
Understanding the result
The user supplies the rate. Removing included tax divides by (1 + rate/100); it does not subtract the same percentage from the gross amount. Regional rules and line-item rounding are not included.
This calculation uses the rate you enter; it does not select a tax rate for a country or jurisdiction. Confirm whether the starting amount includes tax before selecting the mode.
