Mathematics

Scientific calculator

Powers, roots, logarithms and trigonometry in degrees or radians.

Example: sqrt(144) + sin(30). Write multiplication explicitly: 2*pi. log is base 10; ln is the natural logarithm.

Both a decimal point and a comma work.

12.5

Your answer

How it works

+ − × ÷ ^ sqrt cbrt log ln exp sin cos tan asin acos atan abs pi e

Using the calculator

Enter: Expression · Angle unit. Calculation: + − × ÷ ^ sqrt cbrt log ln exp sin cos tan asin acos atan abs pi e.

Worked input and result

Example: Expression = sqrt(81) + sin(30); Angle unit = Degrees (DEG). Result: Your answer = 9.5.

Understanding the result

Use ^ for powers; sqrt and cbrt for roots; log and ln for logarithms; sin, cos, tan and inverse asin, acos, atan. Also supports abs, exp, floor, ceil, pi and e. Real numbers only. For example, −2^2 = −4.

Check whether trigonometric functions use degrees or radians; sin(30°) and sin(30 radians) are different. Some operations are undefined for particular inputs, such as square roots of negative real numbers.
